A mixture of mirth, mayhem and the macabre. A promenade production set in the studios, corridors and myriad of nooks and crannies within the Redbridge Drama Centre.

'This version of Kafka’s extraordinary story has a dreamlike quality, powerfully evoked by immaculately slick, highly imaginative physical theatre.’

Fear and Misery

of the Third Reich

Translation by JOHN WILLETT, presented by arrangement with

ALAN BRODIE REPRESENTATION LIMITED.

This play (originally 24 scenes) shows in both a disturbing and at times surprisingly amusing way, how “ordinary life” under the Nazis was permeated by defiance, secrecy, suspicion, anxiety, denial, violence, fear and dread. Our aim with our Brechtian productions is to give students an opportunity to observe how Verfremdung 'making strange' techniques can be applied to a performance.

ALICE IN WONDERLAND         Lewis Carroll

A picnic and immersive show in the atmospheric and award winning grounds of South Hill Park

'The performances were pitch perfect.
Audience split and reunification  was effective

and logistically clever.
The “underground” tunnel was a fabulous piece

of design – a living installation.
The caterpillar concept – and his home environment – delightful.
One of the best promenade performances I have seen.’

This production gets to grips with the reality of war and conflict on all sides and goes forward to encourage the sides to come together in peace and reconciliation. There is nothing false about The Other Side. It helps explain through the eyes of theatre what life is like for these real people affected by the Middle East conflict'

Devised by the company, written and Directed by Gavin Robertson using real accounts and letters and inspired by the radio programme 'Calls Across the Wall'

(British Theatre Guide)

The actors move seamlessly between their many characters...the heartfelt soundtrack adds to the intensity of the play, bringing with it a great sense of authentic Middle Eastern atmosphere and making the issues at hand all the more real for the audience.                        (The List)

The actors move with grace and discipline and imagined space is expertly created in classic theatrical style...This is a timely production and importantly gives us, as a Western audience, positive news                         (Fringe Review)

In praise of the human voice and the power of conversation, this is a novel perspective on the Middle East conflict. Provocative, intriguing and sensitively done                          (Three Weeks)
